The 2019 Reading Film Festival in the US has awarded Iranian feature ‘Boarding Pass’.
Mehdi Rahmani’s movie has grabbed two of the most important awards at the 2019 edition of the American festival.
Mohammad Rasouli won the Best Cinematography and Rahmani took home the Best Film award.
‘Boarding Pass’ follows the story of a woman whose desperate need for money drives her to body packing. She is pursuing to get hold of her kid’s custody, but she has no money to do so. She accepts to swallow sealed plastic bags of drugs and traffic them out of the country.
One of the packages leaks in her body leading to more problems that she will soon face.
The film has so far attended a number of international film events, including the 33rd Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland and the 2019 edition of the Queen Palm Film Festival in the US.
Mansour Shahbazi, Neda Jebraeeli, Mohammad-Ali Najafi, Asghar Rafiee-Jam, Tala Motazedi, and Shirin Yazdanbakhsh are notable among the cast of the 88-minute movie.
The Reading Film Festival was held on October 31–November 3, 2019.
